CHI teams also undertake healthcare initiatives in the broader Nairobi and Kericho communities via medical expeditions that provide routine and interventionary medical care like administering vaccines, distributing antiparasitic medications, and providing dental and vision care to thousands of individuals living in the area.
Every year we organize a 10-day medical expedition in Kenya. We set up a mobile clinic in our house and our volunteer doctors make visits our children, staff, and more than 250 people in the area, providing antibiotics, pain medication, antiparasitics, vaccines, etc.
In 2018, for instance, our medical team visited 5 schools in the Kericho area to distribute antiparasitics to more than 1,500 students. Likewise, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Health of Kenya, our team distributed antiparasitics to approximately 600 additional families.
