The Care Highway team is a multicultural group composed of professionals specialized in different areas who volunteer their time and expertise in support of CHI and the construction and growth of the projects we have in Kenya. Our organization has offices in the USA, England and Spain.
Chris believes in compassion through common sense and that, especially when partnering with local organizations, governments, and individuals in developing areas, the head and the heart must be aligned. Since founding Care Highway in 1997, Chris has let this personal motto guide the growth and development of the organization, bringing together a dedicated, nimble team of non-partisan volunteers that leverage individuals’ areas of expertise and passion to affect change across the world.
Care Highway and its volunteers have worked in Africa, Eastern Europe, and North and Central America, supporting orphanages, opening educational centers, and providing shelters for families displaced by war, all with the overall goal of building community resilience. Currently, the bulk of Care Highway’s efforts focus on Kenya.
In 2010, Loraine joined Care Highway as anExecutive Board Member – an impressive and uncompensated role underpinned by an intense responsibility to break the poverty cycle for children with education, nutrition and love. Loraine invests her talents in organizational and communication effectiveness to reduce overhead expenses which has helped Care Highway to invest 99% of their donations into three projects in Kenya. As an Executive Board Member of Care Highway, Loraine is able to live strongly held personal values: celebrate unique contributions of every person, affirm life sustainability through direct involvement, win other soverby example and “Pay It Forward” for long term impact.
Loraine has a PhD in Leadership Studies from Our Lady of the Lake University – School of Business in San Antonio, TX. She earned her MBA fromWebster University in St. Louis, MO and she also holds a BA in Communications from the University of Texas in San Antonio, TX.
Trained as an osteopath, Patrick is a co-founder of the London Clinic of Classical Osteopathy. In 2011 he was invited to join Care Highway, where he established the Youth Humanitarian Aid Academy, a positive behavior change initiative, giving socially excluded youths, a volunteering experience on Care Highway’s international development projects.
Rochelle Gregory, PhD. is the chair of the English, Speech, and Foreign Language department at North Central Texas College in Corinth, Texas where she teaches composition and technical writing. She has led more than 200 NCTC students through fifteen countries in Europe and Central America for the past seven years. She earned her Ph.D. in Rhetoric from Texas Woman’s University in 2009 and actively volunteers in Kenya with Care Highway International as a social media consultant. When she is at home in Texas, Dr. Gregory spends her time witht adult children and her husband.
Our team in Kenya is made up of coordinators, teachers, and staff that work together to provide for the physical, academic, and social and emotional needs of our children. Our team members all have different professions and are responsible for supervising and implementing our projects in Kenya in addition to being the family of the children living in our CHI home.
Rosa Mukami first began working at Care Highway in 2011. Rosa is a qualified teacher certified by Kenya Ministry of Education through TSC (Teachers Service Commission) and holds the Early Childhood and Education Diploma.
Regina joined Care Highway in 2014 as a Finance Officer. She has an MSc Finance, B.Com
Accounting from the University of Nairobi and CPAK and has six years’ experience in auditing and accounting firm- MGK Consulting and 2 years in banking industry-Citi Bank and Kenya Highlands SACCO. She chooses to work with the organization as it involves touching the hearts of the disadvantaged children.
Caroline have worked in Care highway children’s Home from 2016 as a senior caregiver. She holds a degree in Sociology and a diploma in Social Work and before Care Highway she worked in Kericho District Hospital in the department of social services.
